Curricular Toolkit: Transformative Debate & Dialogue for the Classroom and Campus

The Curricular Toolkit of the College Debates and Discourse Alliance offers abundant resources for integrating constructive debate and civil discourse into college classrooms. Created by faculty for faculty, this practical toolkit offers templates, debate rubrics, discussion group scaffolding and more to support structured intellectual exchange between students. The toolkit provides extensive information on implementing Braver Angels-style debates, which emphasize participation and free expression, as well as conversation-based Braver Angels Dialogue workshops. The College Debates and Discourse Alliance is a joint program of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA), Braver Angels, and BridgeUSA, and this toolkit reflects the shared expertise of the organizations behind the alliance.
